![]() For example the Knuckles/Rouge gameplay is kinda worse in many respects because they force you to find the emeralds in a specific order instead of just letting you find them, which is just plain padding for no good reason that draws out the experience way longer than it needs to be. It definitely improved on almost every aspect of SA1, but while it has higher highs, it also has lower lows. I think the only thing thats changed since then is people's opinions on Sonic the Hedgehog, but i've never heard many argument for what actually makes Sonic Adventure 2 a supposedly "terrible game" like someone else said, or even a "poorly aged" one. Sonic Adventure 2 has aged no worse than any other game from its era, it's still a good game. On average I spent more time on Sonic/Shadow stages than I did on Knuckles/Rougue and Tails/Eggman stages, and that's without deaths included. I just checked my SA2 file and I only spent around 2-4 minutes on each of those stages. ![]() They're not poorly designed levels or gameplay styles, nor are they extremely slow. Maybe some people have problems with having to play the Knuckles/Rouge and Tails/Eggman stages? I personally don't mind those stages and the change of pace that comes with them. After having replayed it a few months ago my opinion of it changed a lot, going from being maybe top 3 3D Sonic games, to being in my top 3 Sonic games overall. It's not nearly as buggy, it cuts all of that fluff and padding (Replaying the same exact stages as other characters, the barren hubs between stages, Big The Cat), better soundtrack, better graphics. Sonic Adventure 1, definitely, that game is buggy, unpolished, and unfocused as an old game can be.īut SA2 comes along and touches up everything to be a lot more palatable. I really don't agree Sonic Adventure 2 has aged all that poorly. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
